12 BRIGADE INTERCEPTS VEHICLE WITH CANNABIS IN KOGI

Troops of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have successfully intercepted a vehicle conveying substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa during a routine operation in Agbede, located within the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
In a press statement, the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, revealed that 306 parcels, weighing a total of 276 kilograms, were recovered from the intercepted vehicle on 1 December 2025.
According to Lieutenant Abdullahi, troops on patrol flagged down a red Toyota Camry, with registration number ABJ 325 LA, which was transporting the illicit substance from Ekiti State en route Borno State. The driver reportedly attempted to evade arrest upon sighting the checkpoint but was swiftly pursued and apprehended by the vigilant troops along the Apata–Lokoja Road in Kogi State.
The apprehended suspect and the seized items have since been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kogi State Command, for further investigation and necessary actions.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to supporting national security efforts and curbing the movement of illicit drugs across the country.
