The court-ordered destruction exercise was carried out on Monday, August 17, at Navy Town, Ojo, following the conclusion of uncontested cases and the recovery of abandoned drug consignments.

The substances destroyed included cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, cannabis strains such as Canadian Loud and skunk, ephedrine, tramadol, codeine syrup, other opioids and khat leaves.

NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), said the exercise demonstrated Nigeria’s determination to dismantle drug-trafficking networks and prevent illicit substances from reaching communities.

Of the total quantity destroyed, 246,864.535kg was seized by the Lagos Strategic Command between April 2025 and May 2026, while 83,001.05kg came from other NDLEA commands operating within Lagos.
