2027 Politics Must Be Driven By Maturity, Tolerance – VP Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on political actors across the country to embrace maturity, tolerance, and issue-based engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that national unity and stability must remain paramount.
The Vice President stated that politics should not be allowed to divide Nigerians along ethnic, religious, or regional lines, urging leaders and supporters alike to promote peaceful coexistence and democratic values.
Shettima noted that democracy thrives when citizens and political stakeholders respect differing opinions and engage constructively for the progress of the nation.
He also assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is actively working to ease economic hardship and improve the living conditions of citizens through various reforms and interventions.
According to the Vice President, the Federal Government remains committed to stabilizing the economy, creating opportunities for youths, improving infrastructure, and ensuring that the benefits of governance reach ordinary Nigerians.
He emphasized that while economic reforms may come with temporary challenges, the administration is focused on achieving long-term growth and sustainable development for the country.
Shettima urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of ongoing government policies, expressing confidence that the nation would emerge stronger and more prosperous.
The Vice President reiterated the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, national cohesion, and the strengthening of democratic institutions ahead of the 2027 elections.
