Individual Detained for Attempting to Smuggle Psychoactive Drugs into Kuje Custodial Centre

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service has detained a suspect, identified as Precious Yusuf, for attempting to smuggle substances believed to be psychoactive drugs into the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre.

The arrest was made as part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to curb the smuggling of contraband into correctional facilities. According to the Command’s spokesperson, Yusuf was apprehended during a routine security check at the entrance of the Kuje Custodial Centre.

The substances found on Yusuf have been sent for laboratory analysis to confirm their nature and composition. If confirmed to be psychoactive drugs, Yusuf could face charges related to drug trafficking and smuggling.

The FCT Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining strict security measures and ensuring that the correctional environment remains free from illegal activities. The Command also emphasized the importance of vigilance among its personnel to prevent such incidents.
