Successful Air Strikes Target Terrorists’ Enclaves in Katsina and Borno States

Over the weekend, the Air Components of Operation Hadarin Daji and Hadin Kai conducted successful air strikes, further disrupting terrorist activities and safeguarding civilian populations in Katsina and Borno states.

Under Operation Hadarin Daji, on April 5, 2024, an air strike targeted a terrorist enclave northwest of Yartsamiya Village in Katsina State. The operation observed 11 armed terrorists converging towards a mountainous area, with two additional groups joining them. In response, NAF aircraft engaged the terrorists, resulting in multiple neutralizations and scattering of the remaining militants.

In a separate operation on April 6, 2024, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted air strikes at Grazah in Gwoza LGA of Borno State. Grazah, previously identified as a terrorist hideout, had transformed into a logistics storage hub and a site for manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other ammunition. Intelligence reports indicated heightened terrorist activities around makeshift structures in the area. Consequently, air interdiction operations were executed, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists.

These strategic operations target deep within terrorist enclaves, disrupting their recruitment, training, and logistical support networks. By dismantling their logistics hubs and preventing large-scale attacks, the Nigerian Air Force aims to protect innocent civilians and military personnel from terrorist threats.

The successes achieved are attributed to timely intelligence and collaboration with local communities. The public’s continued support in providing crucial information remains instrumental in sustaining these operations and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

Edward Gabkwet, Air Vice Marshal and Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, emphasized the commitment to ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and maintain peace and stability in affected regions.

The Nigerian Air Force reaffirms its dedication to safeguarding the nation and calls for continued vigilance and cooperation from all stakeholders in the fight against terrorism.
