The helicopter crash claimed the lives of General Ogolla and nine other occupants, marking a somber day for the nation.

General Ogolla’s appointment as Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) by President Ruto came as a surprise to many, as the President had previously accused him of attempting to overturn his 2022 presidential election victory. Despite the contentious history, Ruto promoted Ogolla to the rank of General before appointing him to the esteemed position.

A seasoned fighter pilot, General Ogolla had an illustrious career in the military, rising through the ranks to command the Kenya Air Force before his appointment as Vice Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

The loss of General Ogolla is not only a blow to Kenya’s military but also leaves a void in the nation’s leadership. As the country grapples with this tragic loss, tributes pour in for the fallen commander, honoring his service and dedication to Kenya.
