Yobe Qatar Office Documents 100 Orphans for School Take-Off

Damaturu, Yobe State – January 16, 2026

The Yobe State Coordination Office of the Qatar Charity Foundation has successfully conducted the documentation of 100 orphans in preparation for the take-off of the newly constructed Qatar Junior Secondary School (Orphanage Centre) in Damaturu.

The documentation exercise took place at the premises of the Special Adviser’s Office Complex in Damaturu. It involved a comprehensive screening process, the collection of biodata, and the taking of measurements for school uniforms to ensure the smooth enrollment of the selected orphans into the new educational facility.

Addressing the orphans and their caregivers during the exercise, the State Coordinator of the Qatar Charity Foundation, Ustaz Baba Gana M. Kyari—who also serves as the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs to Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni—urged all participants to give maximum cooperation to guarantee the success of the programme.
Ustaz Baba Gana M. Kyari used the occasion to express his gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment as the State Coordinator of the Foundation, pledging continued commitment to humanitarian and developmental initiatives in the state.

The Qatar Charity Foundation has been at the forefront of implementing numerous humanitarian projects across Nigeria, with Yobe State ranking among the major beneficiaries. The Foundation’s interventions have particularly focused on welfare support for orphans and other vulnerable groups.
The take-off of the Qatar Orphanage Centre in Damaturu represents a significant milestone in the Foundation’s activities, reinforcing its commitment to providing access to quality education and improved welfare for orphaned and vulnerable children in Yobe State.
