JAMB REGISTRAR PROF OLOYODE FLAGS-OFF MULTIMILLION NAIRA CBT CENTRE IN MAIDUGURI
MAIDUGURI, BORNO STATE – February 23, 2026
The Registrar of the (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has officially flagged-off a ₦1 billion Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre and Zonal Office project in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The landmark project, located along Maiduguri–Dikwa Road, comprises a ₦667 million state-of-the-art CBT centre and a ₦331 million zonal office. The facility is designed to serve candidates across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states, significantly enhancing access to modern examination infrastructure in the North-East region.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Oloyede described the initiative as a transformative step towards strengthening the conduct of computer-based examinations in the region. He commended the Borno State Government for its unwavering commitment to educational development, noting that improved infrastructure would boost efficiency, credibility, and accessibility of examinations.
“This project represents a major milestone in expanding access to modern examination facilities, especially in areas that require strategic educational investment,” he said.
Borno State Governor, , reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to advancing education across the state. He pledged to replicate similar CBT centres in all three senatorial districts of Borno State and ensure that they are fully equipped with adequate computers and necessary facilities to meet national standards.
Governor Zulum emphasized that the investment in digital examination centres aligns with the state’s broader agenda of rebuilding and strengthening critical infrastructure, particularly in the education sector.
The newly flagged-off CBT centre is expected to ease examination logistics, reduce travel burdens for candidates, and improve the overall examination experience for thousands of students across the North-East.
The project stands as a testament to collaborative efforts between JAMB and the Borno State Government to promote educational advancement and technological integration in Nigeria’s examination system.
