ADC NWC RATIFIES EXPULSION OF HON. LEKE ABEJIDE

Abuja, Nigeria — November 28, 2025

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ratified the expulsion of Hon. Leke Abejide, a serving member of the House of Representatives, following his removal by the Kogi State Executive Committee over alleged acts of indiscipline.

The decision was confirmed in a statement released by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, after the NWC’s meeting held on Thursday at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja. Abdullahi said the committee reviewed the circumstances surrounding the lawmaker’s expulsion and found the state chapter’s action consistent with the party’s constitution and disciplinary procedures.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, the party stated that discipline remains central to its mission of building a political organisation rooted in integrity and character. “The ADC will not tolerate any acts of indiscipline from its members as it seeks to build a party governed by discipline, character, and integrity,” the statement emphasized.

In addition, the NWC directed the Kogi State leadership to fill all vacant positions across ward, local government, and state executive levels. The committee stressed that such replacements must follow the approved transition guidelines previously issued in preparation for the forthcoming congresses. The timeline for the congresses, it added, would be announced soon.
The party’s leadership reiterated its commitment to strengthening internal structures and ensuring that every member upholds the values and principles of the ADC as it moves into a new phase of organisational consolidation.
