Adebutu Donates ₦20 Million at Book Launch, Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife’s 30th Coronation Anniversary

Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, has donated a total of ₦20 million during the launch of a biography on the Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife, Oba Adesasan Afolorunsho Oguntayo, as part of activities marking the monarch’s 30th Coronation Anniversary.

The event, which celebrated three decades of the monarch’s reign, featured the unveiling of the book titled “Destined for the Throne: A Biography of Oba Adesasan Afolorunsho Oguntayo and the Story of Ijebu-Ife.”

In a show of support for cultural preservation and community development, Adebutu donated ₦10 million towards the publication and promotion of the book project. He further pledged another ₦10 million for the purchase of building materials to support the ongoing development of the royal palace.

The donations were warmly received by guests, traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and residents who attended the anniversary celebration.

Adebutu’s contribution underscores his commitment to preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Ogun State while supporting traditional institutions that continue to play vital roles in community development and social cohesion.

Widely known for his philanthropic activities and business interests, the PDP governorship candidate has consistently supported educational, cultural, and humanitarian initiatives across Ogun State.

The book launch formed one of the major highlights of the 30th Coronation Anniversary celebrations of Oba Adesasan Afolorunsho Oguntayo, offering an opportunity to document and celebrate the monarch’s life, leadership journey, and contributions to the growth and development of Ijebu-Ife.

Speaking at the event, attendees commended the gesture, describing it as a significant contribution towards preserving the history of Ijebu-Ife and strengthening the institution of traditional leadership.

The anniversary celebration attracted dignitaries from across the state, including political leaders, traditional rulers, business figures, and members of the public who gathered to honour the monarch’s three decades of service to his people.
