An Eventful Day of Celebration for Honorable Waliu Ifedolapo Owode

It was a remarkable day filled with joy and festivities as we gathered to celebrate three significant occasions: the Hajj welcome-back party, a birthday celebration, and the one-year-in-office anniversary for Honorable Waliu Ifedolapo Owode, affectionately known as Oloogunebi.

Our day began early at the Honorable’s residence, the prestigious Akinrogun Castle in Ijebu Ife, Ogun State, with a prayer session and a sumptuous breakfast. The welcoming ambiance of the Owode household was evident, from the warm greetings of his lovely wife, sisters, and mother to the well-maintained surroundings, showcasing a family of industrious nature. The large sitting room, adorned with beautiful aesthetics, hinted at the family’s prosperity. A poultry farm and a pure water factory within the compound underscored their entrepreneurial spirit.

Following breakfast, we made our way to the palace of the Oba, Alaiyeluwa Oba Afolorunsho Oguntayo, the Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife, where the monarch and his chiefs awaited the return of their esteemed son. The community was in high spirits, excited to welcome Honorable Waliu Owode back after his 40-day absence for the Hajj pilgrimage. Known for his philanthropic efforts, his return was met with widespread joy. The Oba led another prayer session, and community leaders took the opportunity to voice their hopes and requests for the progress of Ijebu-Ife.

The celebration continued at the Ahmadiyya Mosque for Jumaat prayer, where the entire Muslim ummah of Ijebu-Ife gathered. Honorable Owode was warmly received by the League of Imams and Alfas from the Ahmadiyya family, signifying his esteemed status within the religious community. After the prayers, we returned to Akinrogun Castle, where a grand reception awaited.

Back at the castle, friends, family, and well-wishers from near and far were present to celebrate with the newly returned Alhaji. The event began with the recitation of the entire Quran in honor of Honorable Owode. Dignitaries from various regions attended, adding to the event’s grandeur.

As the prayer sessions concluded, the AWOOF Philanthropic Foundation took center stage. A raffle draw added excitement to the day, with several lucky individuals winning fabulous prizes. Additionally, Honorable Owode’s foundation distributed 48 street lights to illuminate strategic locations across all wards in Ijebu-East Local Government, a gesture that highlighted his commitment to community development.

The celebrations culminated in the cutting of the birthday cake, marking Honorable Owode’s birthday. Guests enjoyed an abundance of delicious food, ensuring that no one left the event unsatisfied.

The day was a vibrant tapestry of prayers, celebrations, and philanthropy, reflecting Honorable Waliu Ifedolapo Owode’s dedication to his community and his unwavering spirit of generosity.
