United Nigeria Airlines Chairman Vows to Unseat Soludo in November Election
Prominent businessman and Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, has officially declared his intention to contest the Anambra State Governorship Election scheduled for November 8, 2025. Okonkwo, who is running under the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the announcement at the inauguration of his provisional campaign council in his hometown of Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
Okonkwo’s Vision for Anambra
Speaking to supporters, Okonkwo outlined his vision for economic transformation, emphasizing security, job creation, infrastructure development, education, agriculture, and human capital investment as his key priorities. He criticized the current administration, stating that Anambra’s full potential remains untapped due to governance failures.
“Anambra is home to some of Nigeria’s most industrious entrepreneurs, yet our people still suffer from insecurity and economic stagnation. Governance should be about service, and I am committed to making Anambra a shining example of excellence,” he stated.

Okonkwo highlighted the rising insecurity in Anambra, calling it a major concern for residents and businesses. He vowed to restore peace, attract investors, and create a business-friendly environment that would drive economic prosperity.
“The horror of insecurity has left our people in fear. We need a government that prioritizes the safety and well-being of its citizens. My administration will work tirelessly to bring lasting security and sustainable development to Anambra State,” he assured.

His declaration event saw a large turnout of APC supporters, political stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers, signaling strong backing for his candidacy.
