APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Pays Courtesy Visit to Former Head of State Yakubu Gowon

The National Chairman of the (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, this evening paid a courtesy visit to former Nigerian Head of State, (rtd), at his residence in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Prof. Yilwatda, who assumed office as APC National Chairman in mid-2025, has since embarked on a series of consultations aimed at strengthening internal party structures and fostering unity across various levels of the party. His outreach to respected national figures reflects a broader strategy to consolidate support and draw from the wisdom and experience of senior statesmen in addressing contemporary governance and political challenges.
General Gowon, who led Nigeria from 1966 to 1975, remains one of the country’s most revered elder statesmen. Widely respected for his role during a critical period in Nigeria’s history, he continues to offer counsel on matters of national importance and unity.
