BREAKING: ‘Friend’ Reportedly Murders Christiannah Idowu, Buries Her in His Compound

Ogun State, Nigeria – Shocking details have emerged about the tragic murder of Christiannah Idowu, who was declared missing on August 19, 2024. Investigations have revealed that her alleged abductor, reportedly a close friend, may have brutally killed her and buried her in his family compound in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Christiannah’s disappearance first came to light when her parents received a disturbing message from her own WhatsApp account around 8:49 p.m. on the day she was reported missing. Her abductors used the app’s “view once” feature to send photos of her in captivity and demanded a ransom of N1,500,000. Christiannah’s parents immediately raised N350,000, which they were instructed to transfer to a betting account through a bank deposit.

After receiving the money, on August 22, the abductor made an unusual request, asking the family to forward a bank statement of the sender to his email. The family complied the next day, but afterward, all communication from the abductor ceased.

While this unsettling communication was taking place, investigators discovered that on August 22, a sum of money had been transferred from Christiannah’s account to a Wema Bank account, traced to the main suspect (name withheld). The intelligence operatives, acting swiftly, locked the betting account after confirming that the suspect had already withdrawn N100,000 from it.

Further investigation uncovered a disturbing connection between Christiannah and the suspect. Evidence from their social media accounts revealed a mutual relationship, with both individuals regularly commenting on each other’s posts.

With this mounting evidence, law enforcement officials began tracking the suspect’s mobile activities. This led them to his parents’ house in Ikorodu, where they pinpointed his exact location using his mobile device. On August 29, personnel from the Nigerian Army’s 174 Battalion arrested the suspect. Upon his arrest, they discovered damning evidence, including Christiannah’s blue ITEL A56 phone, financial records of the transactions, and emails linking the suspect to communications with Christiannah’s family.

On August 3, during questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed to the Nigerian Army and his father, admitting that he had murdered Christiannah and buried her in their family compound.

Disturbingly, further reports suggest that this may not be the first time the suspect has been involved in such heinous crimes. Allegations are surfacing that his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his biological sister in 2020 may have also met similar tragic fates, though these claims are still under investigation.

The suspect remains in custody as police continue their investigation into this heartbreaking case, with justice for Christiannah and her family now the focus of efforts.
