BREAKING: Mass Prison Break in Niger, Hundreds of Boko Haram Terrorists Escape

Niamey, Niger – A daring escape occurred at the high-security Koutoukalé prison in Niger on Thursday, July 11, leading to the release of hundreds of Boko Haram terrorists, criminals, and drug traffickers.

The prison, situated near the capital city of Niamey, was overtaken in a violent mutiny. Guards were overwhelmed as inmates seized control, using weapons and vehicles to facilitate their escape.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots and explosions around midday, prompting a swift but ultimately unsuccessful response from security forces. The inmates managed to break through armored gates, barbed wire, and trenches, escaping into the surrounding areas.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the security measures at Koutoukalé prison, which had previously repelled two jihadist attempts to free inmates. Authorities have launched an investigation to understand how the inmates acquired weapons and overpowered the guards.

In response, the Interior Minister has communicated with all regional governors, instructing village chiefs and religious leaders to report any suspicious activity. A curfew has been imposed in the Tillabéri region, and the entire River Niger area is on high alert.

This mass escape is being regarded as a significant security breach. Efforts are underway to recapture the fleeing inmates, and the public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in their recapture.
