BREAKING: Soun of Ogbomoso Appoints Imaam of Soun’s Palace

Ogbomoso, Nigeria — In a significant event held at the Soun’s Palace, Ọba Ghandi Afọlábí Ọláoyè, Orumógege III, the Soun of Ogbomoso, announced the appointment of Habib Ahmed Adekunle as the new Imam of Soun’s Palace. The announcement follows a special prayer session held at the palace.

In his remarks, Ọba Ghandi Afọlábí Ọláoyè emphasized the importance of the role, stating, “The Palace of Soun requires an Imam who will not only lead prayers within the palace but also represent me in religious matters concerning the Muslim community both within our town and beyond.”

Habib Ahmed Adekunle, a respected member of the Ogbomoso Muslim community, brings a legacy of religious leadership to the role, being the son of Abdul Wahab and the grandson of Imam Mahamud Ayilara.

The appointment of an Imam for the Soun’s Palace is a revered tradition, and Adekunle’s selection is seen as a move to strengthen the spiritual guidance within the palace and extend its influence in the broader community.
