
Chelsea Football Club has announced the appointment of former Nigeria international Seyi Olofinjana to a crucial talent management role that will focus on Africa.

Olofinjana, 44, brings a wealth of experience to the position. The ex-midfielder, who earned 56 caps for Nigeria, had a notable career in English football. He played 147 matches and scored 18 goals for Wolverhampton Wanderers between 2004 and 2008. His career also included stints with Championship sides Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday, as well as Premier League clubs Stoke City and Hull City.
In his new role, Olofinjana will be instrumental in identifying and nurturing football talent across the African continent, furthering Chelsea’s reach and influence in the region. His appointment reflects the club’s commitment to leveraging his expertise and extensive knowledge of African football to bolster its scouting and development strategies.
