COAS HOLDS TROOPS OF OPERATION DELTA SAFE TO CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

As part of activities to commemorate the Yuletide celebration, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Nigerian Army Medal, hosted officers and soldiers of Operation DELTA SAFE to a Christmas luncheon at Efuru Barracks, Warri, Delta State.
Represented at the event by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Musa Awwal Etsu-Ndagi, the COAS stated that the luncheon was organized to boost the morale of the troops and to consolidate the successes recorded in ongoing operations. He noted that the gesture aligns with the COAS’s Command Philosophy, which emphasizes a soldier-first culture and robust administration.
Major General Etsu-Ndagi commended the troops for their professionalism and resilience in combating crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, kidnapping, and other associated crimes within their area of responsibility and its environs. He highlighted that these sustained efforts have contributed significantly to improved national oil production and enhanced security in the Niger Delta region.
He further conveyed the COAS’s appreciation to the families of the troops for their unwavering support, acknowledging their vital role in motivating the soldiers to perform their duties effectively. The troops were encouraged to remain steadfast, disciplined, and committed in the discharge of their responsibilities to achieve even greater operational successes.
In his remarks, the Commander, 63 Brigade, Sector 1 Joint Task Force South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdumoshood Shonibare, expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for his continuous support and for hosting the Christmas luncheon. He described the event as a morale-boosting initiative that recognizes the sacrifices of both troops and their families, and urged personnel to redouble their efforts in sustaining peace and security in the region.
The event was attended by senior military officers, heads of sister security agencies, members of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), as well as families and friends of the troops.
