Commandant Nigerian Army Armour School Pledges Continuous Quality Training, Commends Operation HADIN KAI

The Commandant of the Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS), Abubakar Ahmed, has commended the resilience and operational successes of troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), pledging continued commitment to the training of competent armour personnel in support of the mission.
The Commandant made this known during an operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of OPHK at the Maimalari Military Cantonment in Maiduguri on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
In his remarks, Major General Ahmed praised the Theatre Commander and troops for their dedication and perseverance in safeguarding lives and property in the North East. He also commended the professionalism of the troops and noted the improved security situation and peaceful atmosphere in Maiduguri.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to reaffirm the support of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps and to assess the performance of armour crew deployed in the theatre. According to him, the visit would also help identify and address any operational gaps in the performance of personnel.
The Commandant expressed satisfaction with the consistent feedback received by NAAS regarding the performance of its graduates deployed in the operation. He assured that the school would continue to provide adequate training platforms and sustain the modular rotation of armour personnel supporting OPHK.
In his response, the Theatre Commander of OPHK, Abdusalam Abubakar, appreciated the Commandant for the regular assessment visits and the quality of training provided to armour personnel.
He emphasized the critical role of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps in the successes recorded by OPHK and commended the performance of NAAS-trained personnel in the theatre. He also assured that adequate maintenance of armour platforms and the welfare of personnel remain a top priority.
The engagement featured interactive sessions with senior officers, exchange of souvenirs, signing of the visitors’ book, and a group photograph, highlighting continued collaboration and commitment to operational excellence in the fight against insurgency.
