The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), led by Major General Tanimu Abdullahi, has reaffirmed its commitment to strong collaboration with the 81 Division Nigerian Army, enhancing operational effectiveness across formations.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, to the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Signals at Murtala Mohammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos, on March 4, 2026.
In his remarks, Major General Abdullahi thanked the GOC for the visit, describing him as a seasoned and highly competent officer. He congratulated Major General Babalola on his appointment and pledged strengthened synergy between the Corps of Signals and 81 Division in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.
Major General Babalola expressed gratitude for the warm reception and described the visit as an honour. He noted that the CCS has been a mentor since their days at the Nigerian Defence Academy and that the visit formed part of his familiarisation tour of formations and units within his Area of Responsibility following his assumption of command.
The GOC affirmed his office’s openness to collaboration and partnership, noting that he would continue to seek guidance where necessary to discharge his duties effectively. The engagement highlighted the strong professional bond and mutual commitment to enhanced cooperation between 81 Division and the Nigerian Army Signals.
The highpoint of the visit included the signing of the visitors’ book, the exchange of plaques, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
