The Commander, Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC), Brigadier General Mohammed Sani Adamu, has expressed his readiness to strengthen and expand collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI).
He made this known on Tuesday, 4 February 2026, during his maiden familiarization visit to NASPRI at the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri, Abuja.

Brigadier General Adamu, while explaining the purpose of his visit, commended the longstanding relationship between both formations, noting that NASPRI has continued to play a critical role in the training and professional development of NAWC personnel. He expressed appreciation to the Commandant and staff of NASPRI for the warm reception accorded to him, describing the institution as not only a centre of academic and professional excellence but also a regimental establishment, as evident in the high level of discipline displayed by the quarter guard on his arrival.

The NAWC Commander disclosed that he assumed command on 29 January 2026 and stated his desire to consolidate and further strengthen the existing partnership between both units.
He further outlined his vision for NAWC as “to reposition the Nigerian Army Women Command into an enviable height to deliver on its mission in support of the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy.” According to him, this vision aligns with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu’s Command Philosophy: “to advance the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable, combat-ready, and resilient force capable of decisively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint, multi-agency environment.”

In his response, the Commandant, NASPRI, thanked Brigadier General Adamu for the visit, describing it as timely and symbolic of purposeful leadership, especially coming shortly after his assumption of command. He reaffirmed NASPRI’s role as a key training institution for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in public relations, information management and strategic communication. He also solicited sustained collaboration with NAWC and appreciated the guidance of the Acting Director Army Public Relations, which he described as pivotal to the overall professional military educational excellence of the School.

Brigadier General Adamu’s visit underscores the importance of synergy and cooperation among formations, units and institutions as a cornerstone for effective military operations and enhanced national security.

Members of the Commander’s entourage included the Chief of Staff, NAWC, Lieutenant Colonel N. Aghachi, the Commanding Officer, 1 Women Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel B. O. Evevakpor, among other senior officers.

Highlights of the visit included the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs and a group photograph.
