Court Orders Mohbad’s Wife to Undergo DNA Test

A significant development has emerged in the ongoing legal dispute concerning the paternity of late singer Mohbad’s child, as a Magistrate Court sitting in the Ikorodu area of Lagos has issued an order for Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, to undergo a DNA test.

In a statement released by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team representing the Aloba family, it was disclosed that the court ordered that Wunmi be served notice of the pending DNA test application through substituted means.

The application, filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, sought an order to serve Wunmi by posting all the necessary court documents on her last-known address. The legal team argued that previous attempts by the sheriff to serve Wunmi the court process had been unsuccessful.

The Chief Magistrate granted the order, directing that Wunmi be served by posting the court process on her last known address. This decision aims to ensure that Wunmi is made aware of the pending legal proceedings regarding the DNA test.

The Aloba family has been contesting the paternity of baby Liam, and they filed an application before the Family Court seeking an order for Wunmi to present herself and the child for a DNA test at a recognized laboratory in Lagos.

The outcome of the DNA test is eagerly anticipated as it is expected to provide clarity on the paternity of baby Liam and bring resolution to the ongoing legal dispute.
