DGP/IGP Conference Highlights Commitment to “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions”

New Delhi | 12 December 2025

This year’s DGP/IGP Conference proved to be an exceptionally productive convergence of the nation’s top policing leadership. Held in New Delhi, the conference brought together Directors General and Inspectors General of Police from across the country to deliberate on the evolving security landscape in alignment with the central theme: “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions.”
The discussions underscored the multifaceted security challenges emerging in a progressively modern and aspirational India. Senior officers exchanged insights on national security, technological adoption in policing, capacity-building, grassroots intelligence strengthening, and the need for seamless coordination among central and state agencies.

A major point of emphasis during the conference was the continued need to fortify the pillars of professionalism, sensitivity, and responsiveness within police forces. Speakers highlighted that as India advances towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, law enforcement institutions must keep pace—not only in operational capability but also in public trust and service orientation.

The deliberations reaffirmed that while technology, infrastructure, and strategic reforms are essential, the human element remains at the heart of effective policing. Officers were encouraged to foster empathetic engagement with citizens, uphold the highest ethical standards, and respond swiftly and efficiently to emerging threats and public needs.

The conference concluded with a strong sense of purpose and collective commitment, reinforcing the belief that a secure, progressive, and developed India can be achieved only through a police force that is modern, motivated, and deeply connected to the people it serves.
