Director-General Inspects NYSC Formations in Taraba, Engages Staff and Corps Members

As part of his official engagements in Taraba State, the Director-General of the (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, paid inspection visits to key formations of the Scheme in the state. The visits took him to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sibre, Jalingo; the NYSC State Secretariat; and the North-East Area Office II.
NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sibre, Jalingo

At the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sibre, located in , the Director-General conducted a comprehensive inspection of facilities, including hostels, administrative blocks, the parade ground, and other camp infrastructure. He expressed satisfaction with the general state of the camp while emphasizing the need for continuous maintenance and improvement to ensure a conducive environment for Corps Members.

Addressing Corps Members at the camp, Brigadier General Nafiu commended them for their discipline and commitment to national service. He urged them to embrace the objectives of the Scheme, particularly the promotion of national unity, cultural integration, and community development. He also encouraged them to take full advantage of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to enhance their self-reliance after service.

NYSC State Secretariat, Taraba State
During his visit to the NYSC State Secretariat, the Director-General held a meeting with members of staff. The interactive session provided an avenue for open dialogue, as staff members highlighted operational achievements, challenges, and areas requiring support.

Brigadier General Nafiu appreciated the dedication and professionalism of the workforce, noting that their efforts remain central to the successful implementation of NYSC programmes in the state. He assured them of the Headquarters’ continued support and reiterated the importance of teamwork, accountability, and adherence to the Scheme’s core values.

North-East Area Office II
At the North-East Area Office II, the Director-General inspected office facilities and met with officials overseeing NYSC activities in the region. Discussions centered on strengthening supervision, enhancing coordination among states in the zone, and addressing peculiar challenges facing the Scheme in the North-East.

He underscored the strategic importance of the Area Office in ensuring uniform standards and effective monitoring of operations across the region. He encouraged staff to remain proactive and innovative in discharging their responsibilities.

The inspection tour underscored the Director-General’s commitment to improving operational efficiency and welfare within the NYSC structure.

His presence across the formations not only reinforced administrative oversight but also offered valuable opportunities to interface directly with members of staff and Corps Members, boosting morale and reaffirming the Scheme’s dedication to national development.
