
EFCC Arrests 59 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abuja Zonal Directorate have arrested 59 suspected internet fraudsters in a major operation conducted on Monday, February 24, 2025.

The suspects were apprehended at Abacha Road, Mararaba axis of Nasarawa State, following credible intelligence about their alleged involvement in fraudulent internet activities. During the operation, 73 phones of different brands were recovered from the suspects.
In a statement issued by the EFCC, the commission confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

“The arrest is part of our ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime and protect Nigerians from the activities of fraudsters. We remain committed to ensuring that those involved in internet fraud face the full wrath of the law,” the statement read.
The EFCC has intensified its crackdown on internet fraud in recent years, leveraging intelligence and technology to track down and prosecute offenders. This latest operation underscores the commission’s determination to rid the country of cybercriminals and safeguard the integrity of Nigeria’s digital space.
