Ilorin, Kwara State – May 27, 2026
The Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the interim forfeiture of a lounge and a four-bedroom bungalow located in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin granted the order after ruling that the Commission had fulfilled all the necessary legal requirements for the interim forfeiture.
The affected properties include Town Tavern Lounge located at No. 1, Ikere Road, off Florence Court School, Ado-Ekiti, and a four-bedroom bungalow situated along Florence Court, Irewolede Estate, Ado-Ekiti.
According to the EFCC, the properties are linked to Olorunbukunmi Taiwo, 43, who allegedly defrauded one Lady Anazia Colina Kenechukwu of the sum of N1.98 billion.
The anti-graft agency stated that the application for forfeiture was part of ongoing efforts to recover assets suspected to have been acquired through proceeds of unlawful activities.
Justice Awogboro, while granting the application, directed that the properties remain under interim forfeiture pending the conclusion of investigations and further court proceedings.
The EFCC reiterated its commitment to pursuing economic and financial crimes and ensuring that illicitly acquired assets are recovered in accordance with the law.
