Ekiti ADC Kicks as Court Remands House of Assembly Candidate Over Alleged Rape

A Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of Ayodele Babatola, the African Democratic Congress (African Democratic Congress (ADC)) candidate for Ado Constituency 1 in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, over allegations of rape.

Babatola was reportedly arrested and detained earlier by operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command before being arraigned in court. Following the proceedings, the magistrate ordered that he be remanded pending further legal processes.

The case, which has attracted public attention in the state, remains at a preliminary stage, with authorities yet to conclude investigations or establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations.
