Federal Capital Territory reclaims 100+ hectares in Gosa District, cracking down on land grabbing

In a decisive move to reclaim unlawfully occupied land, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) executed a demolition operation in the Gosa District, retrieving over 100 hectares from trespassers. Spearheaded by the Department of Development Control, the operation aimed to combat illegal land grabbing activities that have plagued the area.

Minister Wike

Mukhtar Galadima, the Director of the Department, underscored the significance of cracking down on land grabbing to safeguard unsuspecting citizens from purchasing properties acquired through illicit means. Working in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other pertinent authorities, the operation targeted individuals responsible for encroaching upon the land unlawfully.

The proactive measure taken by the FCTA reflects the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the proper allocation and utilization of land resources in the region. By reclaiming the usurped land, the administration seeks to curb fraudulent practices and preserve the integrity of property ownership within the district.

The demolition operation serves as a stern warning to those engaged in illegal land activities, signaling the enforcement of stringent measures to deter such behavior. Moving forward, the FCTA remains vigilant in its efforts to maintain order and transparency in land administration, safeguarding the rights of lawful property owners and promoting sustainable development across the Federal Capital Territory.
