FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FILES NEW CHARGE ON ALLEGED FORGERY AGAINST MIKE OZEKHOME, SAN

Abuja, Nigeria – February 24, 2026

The Federal Government has filed a fresh charge against a prominent legal practitioner, , SAN, and Ponfa Useini before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
In the newly filed charge, Ozekhome and Useini are listed as defendants in a 12-count charge bordering on alleged forgery. The charge was brought before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, located in Abuja.

According to the charge, the Federal Government alleged that in 2020, the defendants conspired among themselves to procure and cause to be produced a false Nigerian international passport. The passport was allegedly presented as having been issued by the .

The prosecution claims that the defendants purported the document to be genuine and officially issued by the appropriate immigration authority, an action said to contravene relevant provisions of the law.

As of the time of filing this report, the matter has not been assigned to any judicial officer for adjudication. Further details regarding arraignment and hearing dates are expected once the case is formally assigned.

Efforts to obtain immediate comments from the defendants or their legal representatives were unsuccessful at press time.
