
FG Allocates N438 Billion to States and FCT for NG-Cares Program
Abuja, Nigeria – In a major move to bolster economic resilience and support vulnerable communities, the Federal Government has allocated N438 billion to the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-Cares) Program.

The NG-Cares Program, formerly known as the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG CARES) Program, is a World Bank-supported initiative with a credit portfolio of $750 million. Its primary objective is to expand access to livelihood support, food security services, and grants for poor and vulnerable households and firms.
During the allocation, the following states received significant funding:

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring food security and economic stability, particularly for the most vulnerable segments of society. “The Tinubu administration is dedicated to making sure that all Nigerians have access to food and basic necessities. This allocation is a testament to our commitment,” Idris stated.
The NG-Cares initiative aims to provide comprehensive support to those affected by the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises, ensuring a more resilient and stable economic future for Nigeria.
