FG Strengthens Security Collaboration with NSCDC

The Federal Government has intensified efforts to enhance national security through strengthened collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This renewed commitment was underscored during a high-level meeting between the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), and the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ship House, Abuja, on Tuesday.
Discussions at the meeting focused on deepening institutional synergy, intensifying security operations, fortifying defensive capabilities, and improving the effectiveness of joint efforts aimed at tackling insecurity across the country. Both parties emphasized the importance of coordinated strategies and intelligence sharing in addressing emerging security challenges.
General Musa reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to strengthen interagency cooperation, noting that collaboration among security agencies remains a critical pillar of Nigeria’s national security architecture. He stressed that sustained partnership between the Ministry of Defence and the NSCDC would enhance operational efficiency and contribute significantly to safeguarding lives and critical national assets.
In his remarks, Professor Audi reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Defence and other security stakeholders to ensure a safer and more secure nation. He highlighted the Corps’ readiness to align its operations with national defence objectives in support of peace and stability.
The meeting reflects the Federal Government’s broader strategy to foster unity of purpose among security institutions as part of ongoing efforts to combat insecurity nationwide.
