FGN LAUNCHES NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW TO CUT TRADE COSTS AND BOOST GROWTH

Lagos, Nigeria | March 25, 2026
The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the National Single Window, a landmark initiative aimed at modernising trade processes, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency across the economy.
The launch was led by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who described the platform as a transformative reform designed to streamline Nigeria’s trade ecosystem.
The National Single Window integrates multiple government agencies into a unified digital system, simplifying import and export procedures, reducing delays, and lowering the cost of doing business in the country.
Speaking at the event, Edun emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that it represents a decisive transition from fragmented processes to coordinated operations. According to him, the platform will ease trade, enhance competitiveness, and support sustainable economic growth.
He noted that the system would improve transparency, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and boost revenue collection for the government, while also reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks and enabling businesses to access markets more quickly.
The Minister further highlighted that ongoing upgrades to Nigeria’s port infrastructure would play a crucial role in ensuring that the benefits of digital transformation translate into tangible economic outcomes.
The National Single Window is part of a broader reform agenda by the Federal Government to build a more competitive, efficient, and investment-ready economy.
Edun reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment where economic activities can thrive, noting that the initiative is geared towards fostering an economy that works faster, more efficiently, and in the interest of all Nigerians.
