First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Conferred with “Sarauniyar Yaki” – Queen Warrior of AkkoEmirate in Gombe State

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the prestigious traditional title of “Sarauniyar Yaki”, meaning Queen Warrior, by the Akko Emirate in Gombe State.
The title was bestowed upon her by the Lamido Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, during her two-day working visit to the state. The conferment, held on October 2, 2025, honors the First Lady’s enduring passion and commitment to defending the vulnerable and advocating for the rights of the weak, especially women and children, across the country.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed deep appreciation for the recognition and pledged to continue her advocacy, particularly in supporting the girl child. She also called on traditional leaders in Gombe and beyond to join efforts in advancing her initiatives aimed at empowering women and youth.
The conferment ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, underscoring the significance of the honor.
As part of her official visit, the First Lady is also scheduled to perform the national launch of the “Renewed Hope Initiative – Flow With Confidence”, a key menstrual health intervention designed to support school girls in managing their menstrual hygiene with dignity and confidence.
The initiative reflects her broader commitment to health, education, and empowerment for young girls across Nigeria.
With this new title, Sarauniyar Yaki, Senator Oluremi Tinubu becomes a symbol of strength and advocacy, reaffirming her position as a leading voice in the national discourse on gender equity and social development.
