FRSC Cracks Down on Mixed Loading by Articulated Vehicles in Kaduna State

Kaduna, Nigeria | April 7, 2026

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Sector Command, has launched a major crackdown on the dangerous practice of mixed loading by articulated vehicles, following firm directives from the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed.

According to a statement issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the operation is part of a sweeping enforcement drive targeting life-threatening road violations across the state.

The enforcement exercise, carried out along critical transport corridors during the ongoing Easter special patrol, led to the interception and apprehension of several articulated vehicles engaged in the unlawful practice of mixed loading.

Officials disclosed that the affected vehicles were found conveying a hazardous mix of over 100 passengers, animals, and goods—an arrangement that significantly increases the risk of road crashes and fatalities.

Describing the practice, the Corps Marshal warned that mixed loading remains a serious threat to public safety on Nigerian highways.

“Mixed loading is a ticking time bomb on our highways. It is an egregious violation that effectively turns vehicles into rolling death traps,” he stated.

The FRSC reiterated its commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and ensuring the safety of all road users, particularly during peak travel periods, while urging motorists and transport operators to comply strictly with safety standards.
