Gombe State Governor Inuwa Inspects, Commissions Projects in Kwami, Dukku LGAs, Lays Foundations for LCDA Secretariats

The Governor of , , CON, has continued his statewide development tour with the inspection, commissioning and foundation laying of key projects across and .
A statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, indicated that during the visit to Kwami LGA, the Governor inspected the remodeled palace of the Senior District Head of Malam Sidi. The project is aimed at preserving traditional institutions while strengthening their role in community leadership and conflict resolution.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also inspected the 28-kilometre Gadam–Yame–Kyari to Malam Sidi road, a strategic infrastructure linking Kwami West and Kwami, and connecting several communities within the axis to enhance mobility and economic activities.
In the education sector, the Governor commissioned the Mega Non-Formal Learning Center (Modern Tsangaya School) in Bojude. The project forms part of the state government’s efforts to reform and integrate the Tsangaya education system while providing a conducive learning environment for Almajiri pupils.
At the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of the Kwami West LCDA Secretariat in Bojude, Governor Inuwa Yahaya explained that the establishment of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) was designed to deepen governance at the grassroots and accelerate development across rural communities.
He reiterated that his decision to establish the LCDAs was inspired by , who initiated and successfully implemented the initiative in during his tenure as governor. The Governor expressed optimism that the successes recorded in Lagos would equally be replicated in Gombe State.
Earlier, the Chairman of Kwami Local Government, Assoc. Prof. Ahmed Wali Doho, commended the Governor for initiating people-oriented projects that directly impact lives in Kwami, noting that interventions across critical sectors would stimulate economic activities and ensure enhanced development.
Similarly, the Senior District Head of Kwami, Alhaji Aminu Haruna Abdullahi, expressed appreciation to the Governor for remodeling his palace alongside those of 11 other district heads across Kwami and for other developmental projects executed in the area.
Projects Commissioned in Dukku
The Governor later proceeded to Dukku LGA, where he commissioned a modern combined facility housing a motor park, cattle market and grains market named after him. The integrated market complex is expected to boost commercial activities and support farmers, traders and livestock dealers within Dukku and neighboring communities.
He also commissioned a Non-Formal Learning Center (Modern Tsangaya School) in Dukku, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities for almajiri children by enabling them to acquire both formal and Qur’anic education, alongside vocational skills.
During the visit, Governor Inuwa Yahaya inspected ongoing road projects, including the 32-kilometre Dukku–Zange road, expected to be completed within the next three months, as well as the Gombe–Abba to Kirfi road being funded by the (NEDC).
At the various project sites, the Governor assured residents that his administration would continue to prioritize infrastructure that supports agriculture, commerce and connectivity, with the aim of enhancing socio-economic growth and development.
While laying the foundation for the Dukku North LCDA Secretariat at Malala, he emphasized that the creation and development of LCDAs would strengthen governance structures and accelerate socio-economic progress in rural communities.
The Chairman of Dukku Local Government, Hon. Adamu Muhammed Waziri, lauded the Governor’s leadership, describing the projects as transformative and timely interventions that would significantly improve livelihoods.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the Gombe State Joint Project Development Agency, Bldr. Mahmood Yusuf, stated that the projects align with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s deliberate efforts to create functional administrative and economic hubs capable of supporting long-term development. He explained that the initiatives were carefully designed to meet local needs while promoting economic growth and administrative efficiency.
On his part, the Emir of Dukku, His Royal Highness Alhaji Haruna Abdulkadir Rasheed II, appreciated the state government for its sustained support to the emirate, noting that the market complex and other projects would stimulate socio-economic activities across the area.
The Governor’s tour of Kwami and Dukku LGAs underscores his administration’s continued focus on grassroots development, infrastructure expansion and institutional strengthening aimed at improving the overall quality of life for the people of Gombe State.
