Governor Fintiri Distances Self From Party’s Decision To Expel FCT Minister Nyesom Wike

YOLA, ADAMAWA STATE — (17 November 2025)

Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) 2025 Elective National Convention, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has distanced himself from the position of the party regarding the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from the PDP.


In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri clarified that he does not support the move, stressing that such a decision is not in the best interest of the party. According to him, actions that could plunge the PDP into deeper or prolonged crisis must be avoided.


“As a faithful party member, my position is clear: I stand for the peace and stability of the PDP, and I will not support anything that could lead to its disintegration. I believe that peace and reconciliation are the only ways forward for our great party,” the statement read.


Governor Fintiri called on all party stakeholders to focus on healing internal divisions and fostering unity and cohesion. He reiterated his commitment to supporting efforts that strengthen the PDP and advance its long-term stability and progress.


The Governor emphasized that as a loyal party man, his priority remains ensuring that the PDP emerges stronger, more united, and better positioned to fulfill its role in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
