Governor Ododo Orders Demolition of Criminal Hideout in Okene

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has ordered the demolition of Sambell in Idoji, Okene Local Government Area of the state, following intelligence reports indicating that the area was being used by criminals as a hideout to perpetrate crimes across the state.

According to security sources, the decision was taken as part of the state government’s intensified efforts to curb criminal activities and restore peace and security to affected communities. The area was reportedly identified through coordinated intelligence gathering as a strategic base for criminal operations, posing a threat to residents and travelers.
At the time of filing this report, a security operation was ongoing in the area, with relevant agencies on ground to enforce the directive and ensure public safety. Residents were advised to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel as the operation progresses.

The Kogi State Government reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on criminality, stressing that it would continue to take decisive action against individuals and locations found to be aiding or abetting crime. Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and ensuring that Kogi State remains secure for all law-abiding citizens.
