Damaturu, Yobe State , October 4, 2025
Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima, wife of the Vice President of Nigeria, will today, October 4, 2025, flag off a major food distribution initiative targeting vulnerable women across Yobe State. She will be representing the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as part of a broader nationwide effort to support disadvantaged communities.
The event, set to take place in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative spearheaded by the First Lady’s office. The initiative focuses on reducing hunger, empowering women, and supporting families struggling with the impact of economic challenges and insurgency in the North-East.
Thousands of women across the state are expected to benefit from the program, which includes the distribution of essential food items and household provisions. Local officials, traditional leaders, women’s groups, and community-based organizations are expected to attend the launch.
In her remarks, Hajiya Nana Shettima is expected to emphasize the importance of unity, compassion, and inclusive national development, particularly in conflict-affected regions.
This intervention marks a significant step in the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians, especially the most vulnerable populations.
