Hon. Ifedolapo Waliu Owode Distributes Farm Inputs and Facilitates Farmer Registration in Ijebu East

Ijebu East, Ogun State — In a significant move to boost agricultural productivity and support local farmers, Hon. Ifedolapo Waliu Owode, the representative of Ijebu East Local Government Area in the Ogun State House of Assembly, has commenced the distribution of essential farm inputs to farmers in the region. The distribution event took place on August 24th, 2024, marking the first phase of an initiative aimed at enhancing food security and strengthening the agricultural sector.

The farm inputs provided include high-quality fertilizers, which were supplied by the Federal Government of Nigeria. These inputs are crucial for improving crop yields and ensuring the sustainability of agricultural practices within the community. The distribution of these inputs underscores Hon. Owode’s commitment to empowering farmers and fostering economic growth through agriculture.

In addition to the distribution of farm inputs, Hon. Owode also facilitated the registration of local farmers on the Ogun State Farmers Information Management System (OGFIMS). The OGFIMS is a state government initiative designed to collect and manage comprehensive data on farmers across Ogun State. This system plays a vital role in ensuring that resources and support are allocated efficiently, reaching those who need them most.

The entire program, including the distribution of inputs and the registration process, was provided free of charge to the farmers. This initiative not only demonstrates Hon. Owode’s dedication to the agricultural development of Ijebu East but also reflects his broader commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

Hon. Owode emphasized that this is just the beginning of ongoing efforts to support the agricultural community. He reiterated his promise to continue working towards creating a more prosperous and self-sufficient agricultural sector in Ijebu East.

As the program progresses, it is expected to have a substantial impact on crop production in the region, ultimately contributing to improved food security and economic stability in Ogun State.
