Falling in love or loving someone comes with the risk of being heartbroken. At some point in our lives, our feelings may not be reciprocated or appreciated and we have to say goodbye.

As easy as that sounds, it’s a lot harder than just forgetting the person and letting go. You will have an emotional rollercoaster and bouts of sadness and loneliness.

Acceptance

You have to start by accepting that you tried your best and it’s over. Accept that it’s final and it’s time to let go. If you don’t accept the situation of things, you may be stuck in the past and unable to move on.

Forgiveness

Forgive yourself and your ex. Get past your differences and understand that some things just happen the way they do.

Be kind to yourself

Don’t beat yourself up for something for so long. Cut yourself some slack. Give yourself treats, constantly speak positivity and start every day with positive thoughts.

Interact with people

Don’t suck up in your room. Meet new people, open up, go out more. Don’t stay alone too much.

Get busy

Channel your energy somewhere else. Forgetting your ex won’t happen if you stick with your normal routine. Get a new hobby, play sports, get a gym membership, anything to fill up the space that your ex occupied.
