IGP Commences Nationwide Operational Tour with Kwara as First Point of Call

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, on Monday, March 9, 2026, commenced his nationwide operational tour with Kwara State as the first point of call.
The Inspector-General of Police was received on arrival at the Gen. Tunde Idiagbon International Airport by the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Adekimi Ojo, psc, mnips. Also present to receive the IGP were Commanders of other security agencies in the state, senior police officers, government officials, the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) Chairperson for the Kwara State Chapter, and other distinguished stakeholders.
The operational tour is part of the Inspector-General’s efforts to assess security situations across the country, strengthen coordination among security agencies, and reinforce policing strategies aimed at maintaining law and order.
The visit is also expected to provide an opportunity for the IGP to interact with officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force in the state, evaluate ongoing operations, and encourage improved service delivery in line with the Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed that the nationwide operational tour will continue across other states, with the goal of enhancing operational effectiveness and strengthening public confidence in policing across Nigeria.
