INSECURITY: FG RENEWS COMMITMENT TO TACKLING INSECURITY, CALLS ON INTERNATIONAL AND REGIONAL ALLIES TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its determination to confront insecurity head-on while calling on regional and international allies to deepen collaboration in the collective fight against terrorism, banditry, and other security threats.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, made this known in Abuja when he received a delegation of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) led by its President, Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas, during a courtesy visit.
Akume stated that the Tinubu-led administration remains fully committed to ensuring the security of lives and property across Nigeria. According to him, government is deploying all available resources to address the country’s complex security challenges and is equally seeking strengthened partnerships with regional and global allies to bolster national efforts.
He expressed appreciation for the vote of confidence passed on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration by the visiting clerics, noting that such recognition reflects the tangible progress being made in tackling insecurity and other national challenges.
The SGF also urged religious bodies across the country to continue praying for peace, unity, and sustainable prosperity, stressing that moral and spiritual support remain essential in complementing government’s security initiatives.
In his remarks, the President of CBCN, Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas, reaffirmed the Conference’s unwavering support for the Federal Government’s efforts to curb insecurity. He assured the SGF that the CBCN will continue to offer prayers for peace, unity, and national stability, while commending the administration’s commitment to restoring safety in all parts of the country.
The courtesy visit further underscored the importance of collaboration between government, religious institutions, and international partners in securing a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
