JAMB DEBUNKS INCREASE IN UTME FEES CLAIMS

The (JAMB) has debunked claims that it has increased the registration fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), describing the report as false, misleading, and entirely unfounded.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s spokesperson, , the Board clarified that the approved UTME registration fees remain unchanged. According to the statement, the fees are ₦5,700 for Direct Entry (DE) candidates, ₦7,200 for UTME only, and ₦8,700 for UTME with the optional Mock Examination.
Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the current fees have been in place since 2019, dismissing speculations of any recent increment as inaccurate and not reflective of the Board’s official position.
He urged candidates, parents, and other stakeholders to disregard the publication circulating online and instead rely solely on information released through JAMB’s verified communication channels and official advertisements.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of candidates’ interests at all times, assuring the public that any official changes to its processes or fees would be properly communicated through authorized platforms.
