JAMB Releases Additional 531 Results, Dismisses Fake Publication Allegations

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has continued its meticulous screening process of withheld results from the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), releasing an additional 531 results. This latest release brings the total number of results made available to 1,842,897 candidates.

During the ongoing screening exercise, the Board uncovered an additional 11 cases of examination misconduct, bringing the total tally of such cases to 92, up from the initial 81. The Board remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process and ensuring fairness for all candidates.

Addressing recent allegations of fake results purportedly obtained by unknown candidates, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Affairs Director of JAMB, denounced the malicious publications aimed at tarnishing the Board’s reputation. He emphasized that such claims are baseless and fabricated, designed to sow seeds of doubt and confusion among candidates and the public.

Dr. Benjamin highlighted the lack of verifiable details in the false publications, underscoring the need for caution when encountering misinformation. He reiterated that JAMB’s examination template is meticulously designed to prevent tampering and manipulation of results, emphasizing the Board’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of its systems.

In response to these allegations, JAMB has intensified its efforts to safeguard its processes and protect candidates from malicious actors seeking to exploit vulnerabilities in the system. The Board is exploring additional security measures, including the integration of registration numbers into the UTME result checking process, to enhance authenticity and prevent unauthorized access.

Dr. Benjamin cautioned candidates against disclosing their confidential details to third parties, as this could potentially compromise their results and expose them to fraudulent activities. He warned that any collaboration with individuals spreading false information would be met with strict consequences.

As the screening process continues, candidates are reminded to utilize the official channels provided by JAMB for result verification. The method of checking the 2024 UTME results remains sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019, with results not currently accessible via the Board’s website.

JAMB reassures candidates of its unwavering commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity in the conduct of its examinations, urging all stakeholders to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
