Johan Cruyff was born in the early hours of April 25th, 1947 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a young boy who was very talented in the game of soccer went ahead to shine in the world stage of soccer, he started his career at the Amsterdam youth football club at the tender age of 10 years, he was referred as the star of the team with dazzling skills and agility, he was selected to join the senior team at the age of 17, after helping Ajax Fc to win 6 domestic titles, and numerous trophies, he was successful there and was at his prime scoring goals and winning several individual awards.


In the summer of 1973, Johan Cruyff was signed by Barcelona, the popular La Liga side whose influence has grown tremendously in European football, he won the domestic title in the following year and came second in the second year, Johan Cruyff popularised the systemic play of “Total Football” a tactical play that involves possession, skill, dominance and creativity, which was firstly introduced by the Dutch coach, Rinel Michels.

Johan Cruyff was one of the most finest and fierce players of the 1970s to the 1980s, he joined the Dutch national team at the age of 19, scoring 33 goals in 43 matches, he was an icon in Dutch football history, he led the team to the world cup final of 1974 losing the West Germany team, he was named the most valuable player of the team, after his retirement, he coached Barcelona for a few years before he was sacked, he had good and successful years in the world of football.
