Katsina State Government Begins Disbursement of Outstanding Gratuities for Retirees

In a significant move aimed at addressing the long-standing issue of unpaid gratuities, the Katsina State Government has commenced the disbursement of outstanding payments for retirees from both the state and local government services (ULGS).

According to the plan, the payments will be made in two installments, ensuring that retirees finally receive the benefits owed to them after years of dedicated service. The state has allocated a monthly sum of N1,358,801,851.84 for state retirees, while a total of N864,441,793.07 will be directed to retirees from local governments.

Governor Malam Dikko Radda, who has made the welfare of retired civil servants a priority, assured that all retirees, except for a few individuals facing technical payment issues, would receive their entitlements promptly. The governor emphasized that his administration is committed to ensuring that those who served the state are rewarded for their contributions.

“Our administration recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of our retirees, and we are committed to settling all outstanding gratuities in a timely manner. This payment plan reflects our commitment to honoring those who spent their lives serving Katsina State,” Governor Radda said.

While a few technical issues have delayed payments for a small number of individuals, the governor assured that these matters are being addressed, and the affected retirees will receive their gratuities as soon as the issues are resolved.

The disbursement marks a significant achievement in the current administration’s ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of civil servants and retirees in Katsina State. It is expected that the payments will bring much-needed relief to retirees, many of whom have waited years for their gratuities.

The government’s plan to complete the payment in two phases demonstrates its commitment to ensuring financial stability for retirees and restoring trust in the system.
