Keyamo Declares Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election a “Done Deal,” Predicts PDP’s Fall in Delta

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, describing it as a “done deal.” Keyamo also predicted the downfall of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State during the next election cycle. The minister made these declarations on Sunday at a welcome reception held in Ughelli, Delta State, for Great Ogboru, who recently rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after defecting to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 governorship race.

Keyamo, who spoke at the event in Ughelli North Local Government Area, praised Ogboru as “a great leader with massive grassroots support” and commended his “organic leadership.” He noted that Ogboru had successfully maintained a strong political base over the years, even without the backing of federal power.

“PDP will fall in Delta in the next political dispensation. The President has won 2027 already,” Keyamo declared confidently. He attributed the APC’s loss in Delta State during the 2023 elections to internal divisions, stating, “Here in Delta State, we lost 2023 simply because many stakeholders left APC in anger.”

The minister, however, expressed optimism about the party’s future in the state, citing the efforts of the Olorogun Otega Emerhor-led reconciliation committee and the college of leaders in restoring unity within the Delta APC. “Presently, we look forward to the future with much more certainty because the Olorogun Otega Emerhor-led reconciliation committee, together with the college of leaders, have worked very well in restoring unity to the Delta APC,” Keyamo said.

He urged APC stakeholders in Delta State to support the party’s collective leadership, emphasizing that the APC is not a one-man party. “APC belongs to all of us. It is not a one-man party. No sole leadership in the Delta APC. We have collective leadership. And we have already got the presidential mandate to further reconcile the party in Delta,” Keyamo added.

Great Ogboru, who returned to the APC, expressed his delight at rejoining the party and pledged to contribute to its growth. “I only want to say that this house was built by us all. We are now building the house, even much stronger, bigger, and better. When we are united, divine blessings will come,” Ogboru said. He also expressed confidence in the APC’s ability to take over Delta State and improve the lives of its residents. “APC will take over Delta to change the life of the people for better. After all, a better life and good fortune are the hallmarks of democracy. Thank you, Mr. President. On your mandate we stand,” Ogboru declared.

The event was attended by prominent APC leaders, including Delta APC Chairman Chief Omeni Sobotie, Chief Otega Emerhor, Hon. Francis Waive (representing Ughelli North, South, and Udu Federal Constituency), former APC Women Leader Hon. Stella Okotete, and representatives of Senator Ede Dafinone, former Governor James Ibori, and Godsday Orubebe, among others.

Keyamo’s bold predictions reflect the APC’s determination to consolidate its power ahead of the 2027 elections. His remarks also highlight the party’s focus on reconciliation and unity in Delta State, where internal divisions have previously weakened its electoral prospects. As the APC works to strengthen its base and rally support for President Tinubu’s re-election, the political landscape in Delta State and across Nigeria is set to witness intense competition in the coming years.

The minister’s confidence in Tinubu’s re-election and the APC’s prospects in Delta underscores the party’s strategic efforts to position itself as the dominant political force in the region. However, the PDP, which currently holds sway in Delta, is expected to mount a strong defense of its position, setting the stage for a fierce political battle in 2027.
