Lagos Police Summon Pastor Okafor Over Rape Allegations, Breach of Peace

The Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., over allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conduct capable of breaching public peace.
In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations. According to the statement, Pastor Okafor has been formally served with an invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to cooperate fully with investigators as inquiries into the alleged capital and other serious offences continue.
The police leadership also ordered immediate and comprehensive security coverage for alleged victims, encouraging anyone affected to report to the SCID, Panti, where the investigation has commenced. The command assured the public that the identities of victims would be kept strictly confidential and protected throughout the process.
In addition, the Lagos State Police Command called on members of the public who possess credible information or evidence relevant to the case to come forward without fear. Such information may be provided through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command or directly at the SCID, Panti.
Reaffirming its stance, the command stated that it remains committed to maintaining law and order, public peace, and safety, and to ensuring that all allegations of criminal conduct—regardless of the status of those involved—are investigated discreetly and in accordance with the law. The police emphasized that justice must prevail in the matter.
