NAF C-130 Ferry Flight Lands Safely in Banjul En Route to Portugal for Depot Maintenance

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its C-130 aircraft, which earlier made a precautionary landing during a ferry flight, has successfully continued its journey and landed safely in Banjul, The Gambia.
According to the NAF, the aircraft transited Accra in line with an updated flight plan and is routing through Casablanca to Portugal, where it is scheduled to undergo depot maintenance. The ferry flight forms part of routine procedures to ensure the continued airworthiness and operational readiness of NAF platforms.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, it was explained that ferry flights for aircraft programmed for maintenance are required to operate through designated airfields. These movements are carefully planned and appropriately spaced in accordance with established aviation safety procedures.
Air Commodore Ejodame further confirmed that all personnel on board are safe and that the aircraft remains fully serviceable.
The Nigerian Air Force expressed its appreciation to the host authorities in Ghana, The Gambia, and other countries overflown for the cooperation and support extended to the crew. The Service also acknowledged the concern and goodwill shown by Nigerians following reports of the precautionary landing.
