NAF Eliminates Over 25 Terrorists in Coordinated Night Airstrikes at Bula Yobe and Banki
September 22, 2025 Abuja, Nigeria
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has successfully neutralized more than 25 terrorists in a well-coordinated night operation conducted on 18 September 2025 at Bula Yobe and Banki, Borno State.
In a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the operation was executed based on credible intelligence provided by ground troops operating in the area. Acting swiftly on these reports, the NAF deployed a comprehensive force package consisting of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and precision attack aircraft.
The strike aircraft, operating under cover of darkness, conducted three successive precision strikes targeting the movement corridors and known assembly areas of the terrorists. These coordinated airstrikes inflicted significant damage on the insurgents’ positions and effectively terminated over 25 fighters.
“This operation demonstrates the NAF’s continued commitment to supporting ground forces and denying terrorists the freedom to operate in the region,” Air Commodore Ejodame stated. “It further underscores the dedication of the Nigerian Armed Forces to restoring peace and security in the North-East.”
The success of this latest mission reaffirms the effectiveness of joint military operations in degrading the operational capability of insurgents and ensuring the safety of citizens in affected communities.
Operation HADIN KAI remains a vital component of Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts, with air power playing a crucial role in shaping the battlespace and supporting ground maneuvers. The NAF has reiterated its resolve to maintain relentless pressure on terrorist elements until total peace is restored to the region.
